This is what a personal trainer costs per hour in Germany and this is what an hour of personal training costs in other countries
Every year I ask myself: What's the best way to get fit? How do I best motivate myself, and how can I be sure that I'm performing the exercises correctly and effectively?
A personal trainer is the perfect solution - as far as perfect even exists - to get your body healthy and fit. But what does personal training actually cost per hour in Germany? After some research, I was able to find the following costs for personal trainers.
In Germany, an hour of Personal Training costs an average of 90 – 100 euros. Of course, there are also major differences in price here, which depend on the service offered and the qualifications of the trainer. A price range from 30 euros to 150 euros is common and often observed, although there are no upper limits.

Where can I find a suitable personal trainer?
Once you've decided to do something for your fitness and invest in your health (including weight loss/reduction, muscle building, improving general fitness), the question arises where and how to actually find a suitable personal trainer. You have several options for this:
- Personal Training in the Gym
- External support from a personal trainer at your gym
- Find a suitable personal trainer online
Personal Training in the Gym
A convenient way to find a personal trainer is your gym. Every day I see motivated customers there - some have to be motivated first - diligently training with a trainer employed by the gym to achieve their goals. This may be a suitable option for some. Here are some advantages and disadvantages:
- Pros: Qualified trainer, you already know him/her, good equipment available
- Cons: Higher price, mostly indoor
External support from a personal trainer at your gym
Alternatively, you can also ask a trainer at the gym if they would look after you outside of the gym. From my experience, many trainers are open to this. Some trainers also officially have a small personal training agency to earn some extra money.
- Pros: Qualified trainer, you already know him/her, flexible times, outdoor training possible
- Cons: A bit of effort, not all training equipment available as in the gym
Find a suitable personal trainer online
The third option is to search the internet. There are numerous websites that offer a quick and easy trainer search. You can filter by your training goals, location or prices, for example.
- Pros: Sometimes very cheap, easy & quick search, flexible times, outdoor training possible, training via webcam possible
- Cons: Qualifications not always guaranteed, no personal contact in advance, not all training equipment available as in the gym

How you can significantly reduce the cost of personal training
The cost of a personal trainer is a major reason why many people decide to train on their own at the gym instead of hiring a personal trainer to get fit and healthy. However, there are several ways to significantly reduce the cost of a personal training session.
Quantity discount
Many trainers offer you a quantity discount. For example, if you book 10 hours of personal training, you will get a cheaper price per hour than if you only book one hour. Other fitness trainers offer you one hour free when you book 10 hours or offer you a free check-up. Just ask different personal trainers and choose a suitable offer.
Train as a couple
Grab a friend and train together with a personal trainer. Although most fitness trainers charge a slightly higher price for two people, you can effectively split the costs in half, making this method much cheaper. In addition to significantly more fun and motivation than training alone, intensive and personal support is still guaranteed.
Health insurance inquiries
Simply ask your health insurance company whether they will support you in your plan to become fitter & healthier. Increasingly, they offer you a subsidy or partial reimbursement of costs - but often very limited (e.g. max. 100 € or max. hours per year).
Personal Training Abroad – Fitness Vacation
Another ideal way to train cost-effectively with a qualified fitness trainer is to combine a vacation abroad with a fitness program and a personal trainer. A fitness trip is perfect for a "kick-start" to an improved YOU. Not only can you complete a variety of personal training sessions in a very short time, but you can also fully focus on yourself, your training and your goals without the distractions of everyday life. And the best thing about it is that the costs for a personal trainer abroad are often significantly lower.
In addition to personal training in a hotel gym or an external gym, we of course recommend an intensive 1:1 workout on the beach. Enjoy the sun, train on the beach and get fit on vacation.
As a reward for your hard work, you can of course jump into the refreshing sea after your training and relax completely on the beach J

How to find a personal trainer on vacation - Individual fitness trips make it easy
If you now feel like training with a personal trainer on vacation, then I have good news for you. Unlike numerous tour operators that offer you group fitness trips on a fixed date, you can find individual and worldwide bookable fitness trips e.g. at Reiseathleten.de. So you can easily add various training sessions with a personal trainer in addition to a desired fitness program, CrossFit program or yoga program. To do this, simply select your destination, choose a suitable fitness program and select your desired number of personal training sessions – but often several hours of personal training are already included. Another advantage of fitness trips with Travelling Athletes is that you can fly on vacation at any time and are not tied to fixed dates.

Thank you for the detailed article about personal trainers. In my opinion, the prices are not a problem as long as the fitness coach offers a top service. In any case, you could also consider training in pairs to split the costs. That's also more fun, by the way.
[...] Trainer I don't have any experience with personal trainers, but during my research I came across prices between €30 and €150. I think 60 to 80 euros is a good average. [...]
