Jeremy is a NASM certified personal trainer and is happy to give you tips and advice. His customized programs focus on faulty movement patterns and muscle imbalance strengthening exercises. Like everyone at Travelling Athlete , he has a passion for fitness and a healthy, active lifestyle. His drive to work as a trainer is to help international clients in Cabarete become physically, emotionally and mentally stronger.
After studying biology, psychology and international health, Emily now works in the field of nutrition and personal training. As a nutritionist, she advises women before and after birth. She takes a holistic approach to health/wellness and sees nutrition as a key factor in life. She helps you to optimize your nutritional needs in a realistic and realistic way. In doing so, she combines your specific dietary goals and your living environment of work, life, family and background.
Beach run:
In addition to normal running, beach running is particularly suitable for regeneration trips. The sandy ground puts a different strain on your body. Jogging on the beach is therefore much more effective: the leg and foot muscles are put under more strain. In addition, the entire supporting muscles of the torso are challenged. Your body uses more energy and burns more calories than usual thanks to the afterburn effect.
Cross-training on vacation:
In your box in San Diego you have access to the following types of training as usual: Bench press,squats,deadlifts,back squats,front squats,push presses,pull-ups,push-ups, kettlebell, military press (special form of shoulder press) and much more. Complete a cross training warm-up, an intensive strength endurance program (MetCon= Metabolic Conditioning workout), various training units (workouts) and WOD' s (Workout of the day) - training units of the day, different for each Crossbox .
HIIT and fitness on vacation:
Focus on short and high-intensity load and recovery intervals during high intensity training and use only your own body weight. Learn effective ways to train without equipment. The body workout holistically improves your strength, power and endurance.
Personal training:
Train with your personal coach. Your personal trainer is only there for you during the entire session, gives you exercises, checks your execution, motivates you during the last repetitions - in short: they ensure variety, fun and that you achieve your goals.
Yoga:
Experience a physical and mental workout that is ideal for combating stress. Immerse yourself in specific postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), concentration skills (dharana) and states of meditation. Practice yogafor more health, energy and joie de vivre. Beach yoga allows you to recharge your batteries and relax on the beach. Morning yoga activates your body as the sun rises. Noon Yoga gives you fresh energy during your lunch break, allowing you to find your inner center.

After a restful sleep, we recommend an easy run on Playa Cabarete at sunrise. Then start with a blissful morning yoga class in the beautiful Yoga Loft. You will be shown how to deal with stress and achieve happiness and contentment. Afterwards, cool off in the refreshing sea before fortifying yourself for the day with a healthy organic breakfast.
You can then start your cross-training (WODs, fitness etc.). In the camp, you can adapt each training session to your intensity. Whether you're a beginner or already a pro: improve your fitness with cross-training and HIIT. You can also do a private fitness session with Jeremy or Emily: your goals, your program. You decide whether you want to lose weight, improve your speed or increase your strength.
Pump up your adrenaline afterwards with activities such as kite boarding/ surfing/ snorkeling or mountain biking. Depending on the weather, you can spend your free time surfing, flying on a trapeze or taking part in an outdoor adventure. There are great activities such as visiting the 27 waterfalls, white water rafting, horseback riding, stand up paddle tours, massages and more. With consistent side-cord winds, manageable waves and few hazards, Kite Beach (Playa Cabarete) is one of the best places in the world to learn, improve or practice kiteboarding.
An organic farm tour is also included: during a half-day excursion to the organic farm, you can learn more about aquaponics and sustainable agriculture. The Taino organic farm grows a variety of tropical fruits, vegetables and superfoods, which you can try fresh during the tour. After the farm tour, take your tire raft and sunscreen and head to the beautiful Yasica River. You follow the current of the cooling water and enjoy a delicious homemade vegetarian lunch made from fresh organic produce.
Stroll along the beautiful sandy beaches in the evening and relax in perfect weather conditions. Enjoy the remaining hours in a beach bar or on the balcony of the Extreme Hotel Cabarete with a good feeling. Alternatively, Cabarete offers various options for further evening entertainment.
Trip duration:
This retreat has a fixed duration of 15 days. However, there is also the option of 8 days. Please see "Travel packages overview".
Travel program:
You determine your travel program individually, i.e. you can lie on the beach all day or take part in as many courses & activities as are included in your travel package (all services apply as stated below under Included services). In addition to the services that are already included in your travel package, you can book further services, such as extra fitness sessions, with just one click in the booking form.
Availability:
Please note that your period may be fully booked at short notice due to dynamic booking procedures. This means that we cannot always guarantee that the selected trip will be available at the requested time in combination with a specific room. In any case, we will immediately check all travel components with the organizer on site so that we can guarantee you a final response within 48 hours! In the rare case of unavailability, we will offer you an alternative option directly: Either in comparable accommodation or for a slightly different travel period.
